CTVP Participates in special Bday Celebration of Burgas Terror Victim
CTVP recently shared in the celebration of Daniel Fahima’s birthday.
He is a survivor. He was one of the most severely injured in the horrible act of terror in which a bus filled with Israeli tourists, on their way to vacations at the Black Sea, was blown up by a suicide bomber on July 18, 2012 in the Burgas, Bulgaria airport.
Daniel lost an eye, suffered wounds, and was burned over 70% of his body in the attack in which he lost two of his closest friends.
Hundreds of family and friends gathered for dinner and a birthday party in the rehabilitation facility in Tel Hashomer where Daniel receives treatment. Everyone rejoiced in this special party that was really a celebration of life and courage and Daniel surprised everyone as he rolled his wheelchair in to the center to join the dance circles.
CTVP has been with Daniel and his family from right after the attack took place, bringing them financial, emotional, spiritual, and practical help. During the early days after the attack, when his condition was perilous, the name Chaim, which means life, was added to his name so that he might have a complete recovery.
Rabbi Menachem Kutner, Director of CTVP, opened the evening with words of Torah and words of encouragement and support. Together with Rabbi Aaron Pruss and Rabbi Yossi Swerdlov, they presented Daniel with a Book of Chitas for him to read daily.
Daniel’s father had nothing but praise for CTVP and all that it has done for his family, as well as for Chabad Shaliach Rabbi Levi Gopin who has been with the family since the attack.
Daniel is one of many whose lives were forever changed in this vicious attack. CTVP is helping these families in any and all ways needed, just as we help the more than 3,000 families already in our care. Thank you for all you to do help us help them.
