This week, IDF soldiers at the Nachal Oz army base bordering the Gaza Strip received an injection of spirituality when Chabad volunteers and a group of supporters from the United States visited them with gifts of Chumashim, Siddurim, and other seforim for the base’s shul.

As the Nachal Oz base is located on the border with the Gaza Strip, and there is no early warning of Kassam firing. Soldiers are often murdered or injured in terrorist gunfire because there is nowhere to take cover.

Rabbi Aharon Pruss, who runs Chabad activities with the army, Rabbi Yossi Swerdlow, and Rabbi Menachem Kutner took the volunteers on a special tour, during which they received a detailed explanation of the security situation and military operations in the area.

The soldiers thanked the group for their generous donation, which was given by Yudi Zeller. They joined in davening Mincha, after which Rabbi Ami Pikovsky of Los Angeles delivered divrei Torah and blessings to the soldiers and their visitors.
