Chanukah Lights for Terror Victims in Jerusalem
Dozens of children of terror victims in Jerusalem enjoyed a special Chanukah party this week. The children included orphans‚ those who had lost brothers and sisters‚ and others who were themselves injured in various terror attacks. Every week‚ the children take part in a special activity run by the Lubavitch Youth Organization’s Terror Victims Project (CTVP) in which girls from the Shoshanat Yerushalayim seminary give them several hours of fun and special attention.

Dozens of children of terror victims in Jerusalem enjoyed a special Chanukah party this week. The children included orphans, those who had lost brothers and sisters, and others who were themselves injured in various terror attacks. Every week, the children take part in a special activity run by the Lubavitch Youth Organization’s Terror Victims Project (CTVP) in which girls from the Shoshanat Yerushalayim seminary give them several hours of fun and special attention.
Baniah Cohen, whose brother Neria was killed in Merkaz Harav Yeshiva last winter, was given the honor of lighting the third Chanukah candle.
Girls from Shoshanat Yerushalayim ran booths with Chanukah activities and arts and crafts. They also prepared latkes with the children, decorated doughnuts, and helped them make jars of oil. The girls gave each child individual attention, while clowns went among the booths, making the children laugh and smile.
Afterwards, there was a Chanukah convention during which children took part in a quiz. The winners spun a giant dreidel to receive the candy inside it.
Towards the end of the event, Rabbi Menachem Kutner of TVP gave the children Chanukah presents, donated by Chabad communities from around the world.
The children and their families thanked the Lubavitch Youth Organization and the volunteers for all their dedication, love, and warmth towards them.
