Youth Zone Bowl-A-Thon Raises close To $1200

On President's day, Chabad's Youth Zone held its first ever
Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for poor families in Israel, in preparation
of the holiday of Purim. What began as a fun idea, quickly turned into
a real fundraising effort with the children raising close to $1200
dollars.
"The children made phone calls, got sponsors and came bowling, all in
an effort to help other, less fortunate people in Israel" said Rochel
Block, youth coordinator of Chabad. The monies raised were sent to the
Chabad Terror Victims Fund, which helps families afflicted by terror
pay for their daily needs and readjust to everyday life. "I was very
pleased to receive such a generous check from the Youthzone children
in San Antonio, Texas" said Rabbi Mutty Fogelman director of the
Chabad Terror Victims project in North America.
"These children are studying about and practicing the
tradition of "Matanot Laevyonim-Gifts to the poor", which is a staple
of the Purim holiday. I am so very proud of them and their teachers"
he said.
I believe this experience was very important for our children" said
Rabbi Yossi Marrus of Chabad of SouthTexas. "They see that they really can make a difference in
someone else's life, by helping and caring for another
