Sderot’s first grade Students receive special gifts from Mequon
This morning the first grade students in Sderot received a wonderful surprise. Rabbis Menachem Kutner & Yossi Swerdlov from Chabad’s Terror Victims Program along with Rabbi Zeev Pizem of Chabad of Sderort visited the children and brought them gifts of backpacks and supplies from the Chabad community in Mequon, Wisconsin, USA. The children were thrilled to receive their gifts.
This gift was initiated by Ron Kohlenberg of the Chabad community in Mequon, Wisconsin when he along with members of their community, led by Rabbi Dovid Rapoport visited Sderot two years ago. Seeing the children learn and play under the required protective measures and difficult conditions touched their hearts. As a sign solidarity and support, members of the community arranged for the delivery of the backpacks filed with school supplies to the children of Sderot, to bring joy and happiness into their lives. This is the second year that Ron and his wife Pamela have donated these special gifts and they hope to do it on an annual basis.
The school principal thanked Chabad and this very welcome initiative that gives children the feeling that Jews around the world think of them and keep them close to their hearts .
