Terror Attacks

When a terror attack occurs anywhere in Israel, CTVP springs into action instantaneously. Utilizing the resources of over 300 Chabad Houses across Israel, volunteers are sent out immediately to be with the victim and his or her family. When there is family in other parts of the country, the local Chabad House near them cares for those family members as well.

Immediate assessments are made as to each family’s needs. Comfort and counseling are provided on the spot to families anxiously waiting in emergency wards and hospital corridors.

The shock is overwhelming...

The shock is overwhelming...

Together with Jewish communities everywhere, we mourn the two young Israeli embassy staff members, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrom, who were murdered in the streets of Washington, DC.

Violent anti-Israel and anti-Semitic rhetoric has claimed the lives of two young people whose only crime was that they loved Israel and its people…

…and for this sin they died.

Our only response can be what the Lubavitcher Rebbe told Bibi Netanyahu when he was appointed Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations: “Remember that in a hall of perfect darkness, if you light one small candle, its precious light will be seen by everyone. Your mission is to light a candle for truth and the Jewish people.”

The Jewish people are a light unto the nations…

…we fight darkness with light, hate with goodness, and evil with kindness.

Tonight, as we welcome Shabbos and light the Shabbos candles, we will surely bring light and healing to a turbulent world.

We are especially heartbroken, as Yaron had just bought a ring this week and planned to ask Sarah Lynn to marry him.

Our deepest condolences to the Milgrom and Lischinsky families. Words fail us, as two families who were looking forward to a wedding together are now united in sorrow.

We can only pray that G-d, in His infinite kindness, will comfort these grief-stricken families and bless them with long lives filled with goodness and kindness.
