Every year since Cpl. Gilad Shalit was abducted, volunteers from Tzerei Chabad visit his family on Purim. They always wish the Shalits a happy Purim and express the hope that they will soon experience the true joy of Gilad’s release.
This year, Chabad volunteers visited Gilad’s family in a protest tent that they have erected in Jerusalem. Rabbi Menachem Kutner of Tzerei Chabad’s Terror Victims Project (ctvp) expressed his sympathy with the family’s suffering and said that he hoped that next year Gilad Shalit would receive the mishloach manos gifts that he was giving in person. Gilad’s mother, Aviva Shalit, thanked Chabad for remembering them on every festival.
