Terror in Bulgaria/CTVP Responds

Dozens of Israeli Jews were injured and six were murdered in a horrific bus bombing in the airport in Burgas Bulgaria on Wednesday July 18.

The horrific terror attack took place at 5:30 pm as Israeli tourists were being transported by bus to their hotels after arriving on a flight from Tel Aviv that landed at 4:50 pm.

Just as in Israel, where terror attacks happen simply because the victims are Jewish, so, too, in this deadly attack, the victims were targeted because they are Jews.

Planes have begun landing at Ben-Gurion Airport in Israel bringing the injured back to hospitals throughout the country.

Chabad Terror Victims Project (CTVP) has marshaled all its personnel and resources to assist and support the wounded and their families. Because CTVP utilizes the resources of nearly 300 Chabad houses all across Israel, teams are in place to immediately fan out to the hospitals that the wounded are being taken to, and the cities in which their families live.

With the assistance of the local Shluchim, CTVP will go directly to the hospitals, in order to express our solidarity with the victims and their families, and to conduct a preliminary needs assessment so that we can provide the individual aid and help each family needs at this very difficult time.

Once the names of those murdered have been released, CTVP will immediately go to the homes of their families to bring comfort and support and provide help and assistance during this time of terrible grief. When needed, we will do everything required to assist in organizing the shiva for the family.
