Hollywood actor and passionate supporter of Israel, Jon Voight, visited Soroka Hospital in Beersheba on Sunday with CTVP staff members and Rabbi Menachem Kutner, Director of CTVP.

He was there, he said, to bring comfort to the victims of the recent violence that had washed over the south of Israel. His presence was a source of great inspiration to those he visited.

He told them he was heartbroken by the attacks and the suffering. He reassured them that as a result of his visit to Israel, he would go back to America and bring Israel’s situation to the attention of the American public, so they would understand what Israel was undergoing, and how much she needed friends like the United States behind her.

"People from abroad do not understand the reality in Israel until they come here," Voight said. "The American public thinks Israel is strong, tough, and smart, but needs to remember that it is also humane, vulnerable, and surrounded by enemies."
