Orel’s Chanukkah Miracle Oral.jpg

Orel was wounded two years ago in the city of Bee’r Sheva by a rocket attack during the war in Gaza. The rocket pierced his brain and caused a fatal injury. Doctors did not give him much hope.

CTVP staff visiting the hospital, found his parents standing outside the operating room in great despair praying for a miracle. During the visit Orel's father committed himself to put on tefillin every day in merit of his son and with prayers that his son should have a complete recovery.

Ever since then, Chabad Terror Victims Project (CTVP) has maintained ongoing contact with Orel’s family. We have been there with them, helping them through the difficult moments of sorrow. We have also celebrated moments of joy with them as well. Since that day, Orel has had a long and difficult rehabilitation process but with a lot of faith and support from his parents and team of doctors , he has slowly been able to get back on his feet.

Against all odds Orel has slowly been able to regain his ability to walk, communicate, and begin living life again. No one would have believed it, but this year Orel was able to kindle his own Chanukah Menorah bringing much joy and light to his family.
